Two awards within two months for the Czech ILCO
Marie Ředinová, who was in October for the fifth time elected head of the Czech ILCO, was awarded the Prize of the Minister of Health for work supporting handicapped people. This prize is being awarded to persons who render considerable and outstanding service to disabled or chronically ill people in the Czech Republic. Ms Marie Ředinová indisputably is such a person. She was decorated on 3 December 2019 in the Spanish Hall of the Prague Castle by the Minister of Health of the Czech Republic Mr Adam Vojtěch.
On 8 October 2019, Mr Pavel Kreml, the long-time vice chairman of the Czech ILCO was awarded the prestigious prize “Křišťálový kamínek” (Crystal stone). This prize is awarded to persons who despite their own handicap are extraordinarily active in helping others. Both Ms Ředinová and Mr Kreml think very highly of these prizes but declare that they belong to all people who take part in the work of the Czech ILCO. “We all are glad about the prizes and believe they will promote knowledge of our ILCO volunteers’ work. Both prizes also oblige us to go on speaking publicly about ostomates, make their lives better as well as stress the importance of prevention. Our aim is to let all people in our country know that there are ostomy clubs providing information and help to ostomates and their relatives.”
